Retired Professor of Economics | Researcher | Academic Leader
Welcome to my personal archive. I am a retired Professor of Economics from the University of Agriculture Peshawar, Pakistan, with over four decades of experience spanning academic leadership, rigorous socioeconomic research, and high-level development consultancy. Throughout my career, I have served in key administrative capacities, including as Director of the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and the Institute of Business and Management Sciences (IBMS), as well as leading institutional initiatives as Chief Executive of Prudent Consultants.
Now based in Canada, I have dedicated this digital space to preserving and sharing a lifetime of work—ranging from published peer-reviewed papers and institutional policy reports, to deeply personal memoirs tracing my journey, observations, and reflections from my youth to the present day.
My primary research expertise lies in econometric modeling, large-scale socio-economic survey design, and agricultural development economics. A major cornerstone of my academic journey includes my comprehensive investigation into Models of Household Behaviour in Subsistence Agriculture, focusing on small-scale farm dynamics within the North West Frontier Province (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Pakistan.
Using advanced Agricultural Household Models (AHMs), my work explores the non-separable nature of production and consumption decisions driven by market imperfections, examining variables such as credit access, education, technological input efficiency, and labor allocation dynamics.
Individual downloadable papers, monographs, and gray literature reports will be populated here shortly.
Beyond economics, this space serves as an anthology for my personal narratives, cultural observations, and memoirs. Spanning my early roots in the historic landscapes of the Pashtun region to my contemporary reflections in North America, these writings capture shifting social fabrics, historical anecdotes, and a lifelong appreciation for traditional regional literature and poetry.
Chronological chapters and thematic essays are currently being curated for publication on this page.
